African Leopards are solitary and territorial creatures preferring to live alone throughout most of their lives.  Rarely do you find two leopards in the same vicinity let alone on the same earth mound as these two are. In this instance, the reason for the pairing is simple.  Leopards (like Lions) have long mating periods when a pair spends two to four days together having sex on average four times an hour. This couple was photographed during a brief but well-deserved rest period!
